Mission Statement
The mission of the United Lebanese Organization (ULO) is to promote
the educational, cultural, social, and athletic affairs of the Lebanese
American community while preserving the rich heritage and traditions of
our Lebanese Arab ancestors. The ULO serves as an institution dedicated
to enhance community relations through the sponsorship of a multitude of
activities in the greater community by promoting programs for youth to
learn the Arabic language and culture, athletics and social events.
The projects of our organization include but are not limited to the following:
-
Lebanese Cultural Club (LCC): One of the means of
preserving our Arabic language and cultural legacy is the concept of LCC
that will provide classes in the Arabic Language, History, Art, and
Lebanese Culture as well as a place for our membership to get together
and socialize.
-
Youth Club: The primary activities of the Youth Organization will include sports, road trips, and volunteer activities.
-
Athletics Activities: Placing a high value on the
importance of the health of the community, ULO sees it as one of its
goals to establish a Sports Club where people will be offered courses in
tennis, chess, basketball, and soccer.
-
Lebanese Library: A natural and most logical way to
continue the effort of keeping Lebanese immigrants well informed about
current events and assisting in the preservation of their cultural
heritage is the creation of a Lebanese Library.
-
Lebanese Newcomers: Help Lebanese newcomers integrate
into the new environment by providing help and advice how obtain and
apply to services that may help facilitate their life. |
